Mary Grosser is a full Professor (Cognitive Development and Critical Thinking Development) at the School of Educational Sciences at the North-West University (NWU) (Vaal Triangle Faculty), Vanderbijlpark, South Africa. She heads the Schools as Thinking Communities Research Project at her university, which aims to equip pre-service and in-service teachers with a repertoire of strategies to advance the teaching of critical thinking. She also heads the research in the sub-programme Holistic learner development in diverse contexts together with Professor Mirna Nel in the Optentia Research Focus Area at the NWU.
