As the country moves into President Trump’s second term, there are significant challenges confronting the United States as it strives to hold on to its power as a hegemony. Accordingly, this nation remains, for now, as the world’s sole superpower but is seeing its position slip as China and Russia continue to exert greater influence in the Indo-Pacific and European regions respectively. Other state actors like Iran and North Korea are also wielding influence as are cyber actors (both state and non-state supported). These global factors all contribute to the several security issues confronting the United States. This book makes use of unclassified open-source intelligence analysis of regions, countries and non-state actors from around the globe that are testing the formidable nature of the United States. The chapters in this work analyze issues applying qualitative analysis techniques focusing on secondary data sources to provide an unclassified assessment of threats as seen through the eyes of the United States using two models (the York Intelligence Red Team Model and the Federal Secondary Data Case Study Triangulation Model). The key audience for this book includes the 18 members of the U.S. intelligence community, members of the U.S. National Security Council, allies of the United States, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) looking to provide support abroad, and private sector companies considering expanding their operations overseas.
