This volume includes five chapters that detail advances in psychology research. Chapter 1 synthesises psychological, neurobiological and computational perspectives to show how learning mechanisms shape food-directed actions, anticipatory reactions or habitual responding across the spectrum of eating behaviours in these weight- and eating-related conditions. Chapter 2 extends the evolving concept of optimization to the field of public health to expand discussion and open new directions for public health research and practice. Chapter 3 seeks to determine the extent to which individuals involved in cheating behavior attempt to protect their self-image, focusing on cheating behavior within the American Poolplayers Association (APA). Chapter 4 takes a developmental perspective to provide a review of research on stress mindset with focus on its role in children and adolescents. Finally, chapter 5 focuses on the fourth and fifth waves of positive psychology (PP), aimed at expanding PP horizons and exploring possible future PP waves.
