Waclaw Petrynski is a Mechanical Engineer by training from the Wrocław University of Technology, Poland with a PhD in the discipline of Physical Culture. His main field of interest are kinesiology and its heart, the motor control. He was also the former General Secretary of International Association of Sport Kinetics (2 terms, 2007-2011). His hobbies include sailing (Ocean Yacht Skipper). He is married with three children.
