Volodymyr S. Fedenko is a senior research scientist at Oles Honchar Dnipro National University, applying fundamental spectral methods in plant physiology and biochemistry, with the main focus at the biologically active compounds. Another direction of scientific research includes the adaptive roles of phenolic secondary metabolites in plant tolerance toward various chemical stressors. Those studies confirmed the role of phenolic compounds as metal eliminators and organic detoxifiers in plants, which enabled the development of novel methods of assessment of plant tolerance to phytotoxic metals.
