Dr.-Ing. Vlassios Hrissanthou is an Emeritus Professor at the Civil Engineering Department of Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), Xanthi, Greece. He studied Civil Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece, obtaining the diploma of a Civil Engineer. He then undertook postgraduate and doctoral studies on Hydrology and Hydraulic Structures at the University of Karlsruhe (KIT), Germany. Subsequently, he completed a postdoctoral study on Hydraulics and Hydraulic Structures at the University of the Armed Forces Munich (UniBw München), Germany.
