Enologist at the Federal Agrotechnical School of Bento Gonçalves (1982), Ph.D. in Agroindustrial Science and Technology from the Federal University of Pelotas (2007). He is an associate professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, and he was director of the Institute of Food Science and Technology (ICTA/UFRGS) from 2010 to 2018. He has extensive experience in beverage technology, working primarily on the following topics: enology (wines and sparkling wines), juice technology, distillate technology, and beer technology, with a current focus on process technology and good manufacturing practices.
