Vinod Kumar Singh, PhD

Vinod Kumar Singh is incumbent Director of the ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad. Prior to this, he was Principal Scientist and Head, Division of Agronomy at Indian Council of Agricultural Research – Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), Pusa, New Delhi. He did his PhD from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture Science and Technology, Pantnagar, India; and started his academic career as a scientist at the Indian Institute for Farming System Research (ICAR-IIFSR), Meerut, India. He has made significant contribution to the improvement of soil organic matters content and nutrient use efficiency in different cropping systems in India. He is an elected Fellow of India Academy of Agricultural Sciences (FNAAS), ICAR- National Fellow, NAAS Associate Fellow, Fellow of Indian Society of Agronomy, Fellow of International Society for Noni Science. He has been visiting fellow to Germany, UK, South Korea, Thailand and Jordan. Dr. Singh has published more than 100 research papers and has successfully completed over 20 national and international research projects and many training programs for the students, academicians and farmers. Currently, he is also officiating as Joint Director (extension) at the IARI.
