Vee P. Prasher is a Professor and Consultant Psychiatrist in Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry in Birmingham, UK. He graduated from Birmingham University in 1985 and has subsequently completed MMedSci, MD and PhD postgraduate degrees. His main research interests are ageing and physical health in adults with Down Syndrome. Most recently he has undertaken a number of drugs trials and research into the genetics of Alzheimer's disease (AD) in the Down Syndrome population. He has published over 150 research articles and edited or written several textbooks on intellectual disabilities. In 2004, he was conferred the title of Fellow of the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual Disabilities.
