Dr. Usharani RK received her MSc., M.Phil., PhD., (Environmental Sciences specialized in Environmental Microbiology), PG Dip. (Microbial Biotechnology, Bioinformatics), Bharathiar University, IN., Additional Qualifications in Biomedical Nanotechnology, Membrane Technology, Environmental Engineering & Pollution Abatement, Food Microbiology & Safety courses from National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning-Indian Institute of Technology and Swayam, MHRD, Govt. of India. She also received a course completed on NBS-Nature based solutions for creating circular cities from the United Nations Development Programme: Stockholm, SE. She was the recipient of and qualified for the Indian University Grant Commission-National Eligibility Test, having Research experience (10yrs) in India and Overseas in various organizations, Researcher in DRDO-BU Center for Life Sciences, Bharathiar University, Research Associate in R&D Biotech Lab Pvt. Ltd., Post-Doctoral Researcher in Environmental Engineering and Technology (abroad), and Teaching experience (6yrs) as assistant professor at Bharathiar University affiliated colleges and Central University of Kerala. She is scientifically knowledgeable in environmental microbiology, bioremediation technology, ozonation technology, environmental engineering, and environmental technology of wastewater. She has published 30 papers for international peer-reviewed scientific journals, more than 30 international and national conferences, four book chapters for scientific renowned publishers, Springer, Taylor & Francis, and CRC-Press in her credit, and published two books with scientific academic publishers. She received SRj, JRF, and fellowships from BU-DRDO Center for Life Sciences, Bharathiar University, and the Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India, as well as from the TN State Council Science and Technology student’s project fellowship scheme. She was awarded best paper at the International Conference on Advanced Oxidation-ICAOP-2010. She was the recipient of the prestigious Brazil Young Talent JTEE Researcher and Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship from CAPES-Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Govt. of Brazil. She acts as a referee, reviewer for scientifically reputed several journals of Springer, Elsevier, ACS, Taylor and Francis, Bentham Science scientific publishers and editorial board member of scientific frames in the fields of microbiology, biotechnology, environmental engineering, nanotechnology, ASM, EFB, WAST, microbiologist associations, etc. for scientific committees, academic, research, in various organizations, forums and scientific collaboration with international institutions.
