Motaung Tshwafo is a nationally rated associate Professor in the University of Zululand. His interest is organic polymer chemistry and specializes in agro waste value addition. Prof. Motaung established a research group that prioritized environmental welfare for an innovative focus on waste analysis supported by different local industries. He has many informative publications on organic wastes stream and possible treatments for applications. In fact, Prof Motaung is amongst the bests who developed smart materials using treated industrial and agricultural waste. Prof Motaung graduated a number of students including industrial employees through human capital impactful collaborations. Closing a gap between industries and higher learning education is his passion and graduating the employable and relevant students to local and international industries, at research level, is his determination.
