Dr. Kitamura graduated from Keio University, Tokyo. Having spent ten years as Professor of Psychological Medicine at Kumamoto University, she has opened Kitamura KOKORO Clinic Mental Health, Kitamura Institute of Mental Health Tokyo, and T. and F. Kitamura Foundation for Mental Health Research and Skill Advancement. He was and remains the first and only Japanese psychiatrist to hold British qualifications in psychiatry.
