Prof. Tommy H.T. Chan has been actively involved in carrying out research on structural health monitoring (SHM) and bridges. He has nearly 30 years of experience in SHM including various significant long span bridges in Hong Kong and mainland China. He is also a professional engineer and Fellow of the HK Institute of Engineers. He is the founding president of the Australian Network of Structural Health Monitoring.
