Thuwayba Al Barwani is a Full Professor of Curriculum and Instruction and Director of Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and a member of the University Council at Sultan Qaboos University. She is also a member of the Council for Higher Education which is the highest policy making body in Higher education in Oman. She served as Undersecretary of Social Affairs and Undersecretary of Social Development in the government and has presented extensively on issues related to social development. She has researched and published in areas of Empowerment, Family Cohesion, Teaching English as Foreign Language and Quality in Higher Education.
