Tom Huffman, BA (1966) University of Denver; MA (1970), PhD (1974) University of Illinois (Champagne), was Professor and Head of Archaeology at Wits University (1977-2000) before retiring as Emeritus Professor (2009). He helped develop the cognitive archaeology of pre-colonial farming communities in southern Africa and is now applying that approach to the High Plains.
