Syarah Syahira Mohd Yusoff

Syarah Syahira currently serves as the Deputy Dean (Academic and Internationalisation) in IIUM Institute of ‎Islamic Banking and Finance (IIiBF). In addition to this role, she acts as the project leader for the Islamic ‎Social Finance for B40 Community 3.0 IIUM Flagship Project. Holding key positions, she is also the Coordinator for the Certificate in Islamic Banking and Finance for Legal Practitioners (CIBFL) and the Coordinator for the Certificate in Shariah for Takaful Practitioners (CSTP), both prestigious professional certificates organized by the IIiBF. Specializing in legal framework issues within Islamic banking and finance, as ‎well as Islamic commercial law, Dr. Syarah’s expertise extends to areas such as legal documentation, Islamic ‎social finance, and the financial well-being of women and the B40 communities. Before entering academia, Dr. Syarah was a practicing advocate and solicitor at a distinguished law firm, handling various conveyancing and corporate portfolios. At IIiBF, she imparts her knowledge by teaching courses on legal ‎frameworks and issues in Islamic banking and finance, research methodology, and qualitative methods. Dr. Syarah is also involved in instructing Practical Lending, Banking Securities, and Islamic Capital Market at Harun Hashim Law Centre. She is also one of the trainers for Islamic banking and finance courses conducted ‎by CERT and IBFIM. Her commitment to advancing the field is evident through her publications and ‎academic presentations in Islamic financial and banking arenas.‎
