Svetlana Zunic was born on August 22nd, 1958, in Kragujevac, Serbia. After graduated Medicine from the Belgrade University Medical Faculty Department in Kragujevac in 1983, she obtained her Master's Degree at Medical faculty, Belgrade University in 1987 with a Master's Dissertation entitled "Metabolic characteristics of erythrocytes in diabetes mellitus" and a Doctoral Degree, with a thesis entitled "Cytochemical examination of alveolar macrophages in pulmonary sarcoidosis and malignant lung diseases". She finished her specialization in internal medicine (1989) and later, specialization in nuclear medicine (2000) at the Belgrade University, Medical Faculty. Professor Dr. Svetlana Zunić started her career as a General Practitioner in 1983, and her academic career as an Assistant to Professor for Biochemistry at the Medical Faculty Belgrade University, Dept. in Kragujevac (1984-1989). After specialization in Internal Medicine, she moved to Belgrade University Clinical Center, Immunological Laboratory, where she continued with the routine as well as research work. From the beginning of 1994 to present, as a head of Laboratory for Microanalytic Diagnostics in National PET Center of Clinical Center of Serbia, Professor Svetlana Zunić has developed collaborative projects with Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. With broad spectrum of education and her experience in both, basic and applied research, Professor Dr. Svetlana Zunić continued her academic career as an assistant Professor of oncology (1997) at the Belgrade University, Medical Faculty, Associate Professor of Biochemistry at US Medical School, Belgrade (2005), Apeiron University, Banja Luka, Republika Srpska (2007), Medical Faculty of Medical Military Academy in Belgrade (2010 to present) and in ECPD (2011 to 2015). Svetlana Zunić was the Head of Serbian Medical Society, Nuclear Medicine Department (2009-2012) and a member of New York Academy of Sciences. She speaks English and Russian.
