Dr. Surindra Suthar, FLS did his PhD (2002) from J.N.V. University (Former Jodhpur University), Jodhpur. He did his Postdoctoral at IIT Delhi and also did a course on Solid Waste Management from UNESCO-IHE Institute of Water Education Delft, Netherlands. He has been working in the areas of solid waste management, waste-to-energy, ecotoxicology, and wastewater treatment for the last 20 years and has produced more than 150 (117 SCOPUS cited articles) research papers (cumulative impact factor >570) with h-index=41& i10-index=79, and >5406 citations in his credit. He is a member of various international committees like the Commission on Ecosystem Management (Gland, Switzerland), IUCN CEM South Asia, expert for grand proposals from European Science Foundation, Republic of Kazakhstan, Latvian Science Council (Republic of Latvia), and International Foundation of Science (Sweden). Awards in his credit include Elected Fellow of Linnean Society London (1st April 2021), elected member of Sigma XI, The Scientific Research Honour Society (Established in 1886 at Cornell University, USA) in 2021, enlisted in top 2% Scientist of the World by Stanford University, USA, 2nd in India and 220 Global Ranking in Environmental Science disciplines. He has received the Medal for Excellence in Science (2013), Technology & Education, Szent Istvan University, Hungary, NUFFIC Fellowship by Govt. of Netherlands, and the Fast-track Young Scientist Award (2011) by Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. Currently, he is serving as Associate Professor (since 2010) in the School of Environment & Natural Resources, Doon University, Dehradun, India.
