Sowdhamini Wallace is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics within the division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Her clinical practice resides at Texas Children’s Hospital, where she cares for hospitalized children with varying admitting diagnoses. She completed her medical school training at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania in 2004 and residency training in pediatrics at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in 2007. Subsequently, she moved to Houston, Texas for fellowship training in Pediatric Hospital Medicine from 2008-2010 and then joined as faculty in 2011. She completed further training in clinical research and attained a Master’s in Science in clinical research in 2017. She is board certified in the subspecialty of Pediatric Hospital Medicine and serves as the research director for her division. Her passion for evidence-based medicine resides in her desire to teach users of the literature how to effectively appraise and integrate evidence into their practice. She is an Associate Course Director for a medical student course on evidence-based medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and has taught on the topic of evidence-based medicine to various other groups, including residents, fellows, practicing physicians, nurses and pharmacists.
