Somboon Tanasupawat received his PhD in Agricultural Chemistry from Tokyo University of Agriculture, Japan, MSc in Microbiology, Kasetsart University, Thailand, Diploma in Microbiology and Biotechnology from Osaka University, Japan. He is a Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology, Faculty of Phamaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. Tanasupawat received a Scientist Award, Nagai Award from the Nagai Foundation, Tokyo, National Outstanding Research Award from National Research Council of Thailand (2020) and Outstanding Research Award from Alumni of Faculty of Science, Kasetsart University (2020), Thailand. He has published over 300 research articles in peer-reviewed in microbial taxonomy and applied microbiology, and authored 30 book chapters with publishers of international repute. In addition, he is an editorial board member of several journals.
