Shigekazu Kusumoto was awarded MSc and PhD in geodesy from Kyoto University. He studied not only geodesy but applied geophysics and tectonophysics using numerical modeling. His present specialty is tectonophysics, and has studied on formation process of sedimentary basin and caldera. In addition, he has studied on estimation techniques of their subsurface structures by gravity anomaly and gravity gradient tensor.
