Sharmistha Ghosh, PhD, is a Professor at the Institute of Engineering and Management, Salt Lake Campus, University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata, India. She received her doctorate in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. She also studied Industrial Mathematics at the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. Her major field of study includes fuzzy and soft set theories with applications to databases, decision making, medical diagnosis problems, etc. as well as computational fluid dynamics, and she has published several research papers in scientific journals as well as book chapters in edited books. She has edited two books in the domain of Mathematics and Computer Science. She is also the editor of several scientific journals and works as a reviewer of journals as well as doctoral theses in India as well as abroad.
