Seki A. Balogun, MBBS, FACP, AGSF is an Associate Professor of Medicine and academic geriatrician at the University of Virginia Health System (UVA), Charlottesville, Virginia, United States, where she currently serves as the Director of the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program and Medical Director of a continuing care retirement community. As a Nigerian-American with medical training in Nigeria and the United States, she has had the privilege of providing medical care for older patients over three decades, in both countries and has an astute awareness of the different health issues faced by older patients across racial groups and ethnicities.
