Rustem Uzbekov was born in 1964 in Kazan, USSR. In 1987 he graduated from the Faculty of Biology of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, where he received PhD in Cell Biology in 1992 and Dr. of Science degree in 2004. Since 2006 he is an Associated Professor at Moscow State University and since 2008 he has been working at the University of Tours. He is the author of 6 books and over 100 scientific articles.
