Currently she is the senior consultant in psychiatry at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology of the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona (Spain). She is a coordinator of the Research Group on Vulnerability, Psychopathology and Gender since 2008. She has been a researcher at the Institute of Neuroscience of Barcelona University, the Institute of Biomedical Research August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS), and the Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red en Salut Mental (CIBERSAM) since 2008. She is full member of the International Board of the National Institute of Science and Technology - Translational Medicine (Brazil) since 2008. She was Honorary Researcher at the Institute of Psychiatry King´s College of London (2002-2006). She has been a visiting professor at the Department of Neuroscience and Behaviour at the University of Sao Paulo, Faculty of Medicine-Ribeirão Preto (2016). She conducts research in neurobiology, biological markers and risk factors of depressive and anxiety disorder, primary and induced by drugs.
