Roberto G. Carbone, MD, FCCP is a Professor of Medicine and Senior Consultant of Medicine for Interstitial Lung Disease and Pulmonary Hypertension at Genoa University School of Medicine, Italy. Dr. Carbone received his medical degree in Respiratory Diseases and Respiratory Pathophysiology from Genoa University and his Master’s Degree in Respiratory Medicine from Royal Brompton Hospital, London, UK. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. He is a member of ACCP Steering committees, including lung transplantation, cardiovascular diseases, and interstitial lung disease. He also holds memberships with the American Heart Association Council, the Royal Society and General Medical Council (UK) and the European Respiratory Society. He is also part of the ATS Leadership team.

Dr. Carbone is an opinion speaker and chairman with over 40 oral presentations in international meetings. He is an author of 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is co-working in the Global Project Genome for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (principal investigator Dean Professor David Schwartz).
