Dr. Raquel Cossio-Bayugar is a senior scientific researcher at the National Center for Disciplinary Research in Animal Health and Safety (CENID-SAI), which is one of 77 research centers at the National Institute for Agricultural, Livestock and Forestry Research (INIFAP) distributed along the geography of Mexico. Dr. Cossio-Bayugar’s main area of scientific research is cattle tick acaricide-resistance, in vitro-tick cell culture, tick-physiology, tick-immunology and tick response to pathogens, on which she has published 40 research papers. Cossio-Bayugar obtained a degree in Biomedical research from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and a Ph.D. degree from Texas A&M University. Since then, she has been working as a researcher.
