Assistant Professor, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Texas, USA.
Dr. Jayant, Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) at the School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Science (TTUHSC, Amarillo). Dr. Jayant obtained his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (IITB, Mumbai) and Master of Technology (M. Tech.) in Pharmaceutical Technology Biotechnology from National Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology and Research (NIPER, Mohali), India. He has over ten years of experience working at the interface of biomedical engineering, material science, microfluidics, pharmaceutical science, and nanoformulation development for clinical and biomedical applications. In his current research, he works on the development of the CRISPR based gene therapy and nanotechnology-based drug delivery approaches for personalized nanomedicine applicable to neuroAIDS and drug abuse treatment. His lab is also working on the development of bioengineering platform technologies using a 3D-printed-cerebral organoid-on-a- chip platform system to study the effect of drug abuse, alcohol exposure, or HIV-1 infection on early-stage brain development and drug neurotoxicity testing.
