Dr. Quincy Martin III serves as assistant professor and coordinator for the higher education administration concentration in the interdisciplinary leadership doctorate program at Governors State University and senior consultant for Spelman Johnson, an executive leadership search firm. With a career spanning nearly 25 years, Dr. Martin has served in various capacities in higher education administration at both the community college and university levels leading multiple units, programs, and functions in student affairs. Dr. Martin has been an active contributor, national award winner, presenter, and leader with the NASPA—Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, as a member of the board of directors, faculty council, as a reviewer and guest editor for the Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice, as a faculty member and chair of the Mid-Level Administrators Conference, and as a recipient of the Outstanding Community College Professional Award. His research interests include higher education and student affairs with special emphasis on student affairs administration and leadership in higher education. Dr. Martin earned his bachelor’s degree in music and MEd in counseling and development from Lamar University, and his EdD in adult and higher education from Northern Illinois University.
