Dr. Pushpalatha Ganesh (M.Sc., Ph.D.) is a plant biotechnologist with more than 13 years of academic and research experience in agricultural biotechnology, molecular plant breeding, and crop improvement. She holds a Ph.D. in Plant Biotechnology from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, and the Directorate of Rice Research, Hyderabad, where her work focused on allele mining and cloning of genes conferring salinity tolerance in rice. She has served as a Visiting Faculty at the Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University, Japan, under an international research program, and has led projects funded by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Government of India. Currently, she is a Professor at Centurion University of Technology and Management, where she established advanced plant physiology, biotechnology, and tissue culture laboratories, including a commercial center producing tissue culture-raised banana, pineapple, and chrysanthemum plants. Dr. Pushpalatha has published widely in national and international journals, authored and edited books, and contributed book chapters on crop genomics, omics-based breeding, and floriculture biotechnology. Her work has been recognized with awards including the Scientist Associate Award (2014) and the Research Wizard Award (2021). Her research integrates molecular tools with applied crop improvement, contributing to food security, abiotic stress tolerance, and sustainable agricultural practices.
