Dr. Prebble Q Ramswell is a political sociologist and analyst who spent six years working in Counterterrorism for the Central Intelligence Agency. Upon moving to Florida in 2009, Ramswell embraced a new challenge: running for City Council in March 2014. Her successful bid for Councilwoman led to state appointments on the Growth Management and Economic Development Board and the International Relations Committee with the Florida League of Cities. In July 2014, Ramswell was appointed by Florida Senate President Don Gaetz to serve on the Board of Directors of the Senate Committee for Veterans and, in 2016, was elected by the city council to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. Ramswell was reelected to a second four-year term in 2018, and was subsequently reappointed by fellow council and Mayor to serve as Mayor Pro Tem through 2020.
