Dr. Polaki Suman (M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D.) is a molecular biologist and biotechnologist with more than a decade of academic and research experience. His expertise spans DNA barcoding, next-generation sequencing (NGS), multi-omics integration, environmental biotechnology, and the application of AI- and IoT-enabled biosystems. He obtained all his degrees, including his doctorate, from Andhra University, India. His doctoral research explored biomarkers and proteomic responses to copper toxicity in aquaculture species, building on his earlier M.Phil. work on the DNA barcoding of mangrove plants. Dr. Suman has contributed extensively to molecular biology and biotechnology through research, teaching, and innovation. His work integrates classical biology with cutting-edge computational approaches, bridging the fields of bioinformatics, nanotechnology, and sustainable agriculture. His contributions extend to bioenergy from lignocellulosic biomass, nanotechnology-assisted environmental remediation, plant molecular biology, and aquaculture system optimization. He also holds patents on IoT-based aquaculture and hydroponics devices, reflecting his commitment to sustainable technology-driven solutions. As a mentor, Dr. Suman has successfully guided doctoral research and continues to supervise projects in genomics, bioinformatics, and environmental biotechnology. He has participated in numerous workshops and advanced training programs, gaining certifications in DNA barcoding, NGS, CRISPR, and artificial intelligence in drug discovery. He has published over 22 peer-reviewed research articles, authored 2 books, contributed 6 book chapters with international publishers including Nova, Springer, Elsevier, and CRC Press, and holds 3 patents on innovative biosystems and sustainable technologies. Through this multidisciplinary portfolio, Dr. Suman is recognized for advancing plant science, biotechnology, and environmental sustainability.
