Between 1986 and 2020, Peter van de Kamp published nineteen books, from a pictorial biography of Flann O’Brien (with Peter Costello, Bloomsbury) to Whodunits in Dubliners. He was the executive editor of the Collected Works of James Clarence Mangan. With A. Norman Jeffares, he edited the four volumes of Irish Literature. He was advisory editor for Irish Academic Press. He was the founder of K.I.S.S., The Kerry International School of Living Irish Authors. He has taught at Leiden University, at University College Dublin, at Munster Technological University and at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, where he was visiting professor. He was a frequent contributor to radio and tv programmes in many countries, and was a books reviewer for such papers as the Irish Independent. He is retired and lives in Tralee.
