Óscar J. Sánchez received a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and M.Sc. in Biotechnology degrees from the Moscow State Academy of Fine Chemical Technology (Russia), and a Ph.D. degree from the National University of Colombia. His research focuses on bioprocess systems engineering, biofuels production, industrial microbiology, and enzyme technology. He was granted a US patent on a novel bioreactor for solid-state fermentations. From 2009, he leads the research group on Foods and Agro-industry at Universidad de Caldas.
