Michael G. Kontominas is a Chemistry graduate of the University of Athens, Greece (1975). He earned his Ph.D. in Food Science (Food Chemistry) from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ, USA in 1979. After a short post doc at Rutgers University, he joined the faculty of the Chemistry Department, University of Ioannina in Greece in 1980 where he has served as a Full Professor since 1997.
