Dr. Michael F. Shaughnessy was born in New York City in 1951 and attended public schools there. He attended Westchester Community College, in Valhalla New York and received his associate degree there in 1971 and then received his bachelor’s degree from Mercy College, in Dobbs Ferry, New York. He did his graduate work at Bank Street College of Education, in New York City and received his master’s degree and Professional Diploma there. He then attended the College of New Rochelle, in New Rochelle New York and received his master’s in School Psychology. He received his doctoral degree in 1983 from the University of Nebraska under John A. Glover and has done additional work at Texas Tech University, in Lubbock Texas, and additional work at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
