Maria A. Kaila is a Professor in Educational Psychology at the Department of Sciences of Preschool Education and Educational Design, University of the Aegean, Rhodes, Greece. She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at René Déscartes–Sorbonne University – Paris V., Dept. of Sciences of Education and Psychology, France, Nanterre, University, Paris X and Villetaneuse, University Paris XIII, Dept. of Psychology (D.E.U.G., Licence, D.E.A., Maîtrise, Doctorat). She has served as Vice Rector of Academic Affairs, Academic Staff and Administration of the University of Aegean. She is the Director of the Master Program “Environmental Education” of the University of the Aegean (2004 up to date). She is also Director of the Laboratory of Educational and Psychological Research and Applications of the Department of Sciences of Preschool Education and Educational Design. Her research interests include Educational Psychology, Research Methods in Education, Pedagogical Psychology, Educational Design, Environmental Psychology, Sustainable Development, Creative Thinking and Learning. She has published many books, has edited several collective volumes, has organized many scientific conferences and has participated as a reviewer and member of many editorial committees of scientific journals. She has also numerous publications in Greek and international scientific journals and papers at conferences both in Greece and abroad.
