Dr. Sakakibara is interested in the neuronal mechanisms of learning and memory. He started his scientific carrier more than 30 years starting as a staff member of Laboratory of Biophysics in NINCDS at MBL. Since then he has engaged in electrophysiological research at the loci of memory engram in invertebrate.
