Luca Salvati is a Researcher in Economic Statistics at the University of Macerata, Macerata, Italy. He is a past researcher at ISTAT (Italian National Institute of Statistics) and CREA (Council for Agricultural Research and Analysis of Agricultural Economics). He carried on research at CNR (National Research Council), ISPRA (The Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research), and numerous Universities and Research Institutions in Italy and abroad (Tolosa, Barcellona, Atene). He is an expert in institutional statistics, statistics for the territory, and the theory of indicators. He has conducted studies on issues of economic statistics, urban economy, regional demography, and sustainable development, including through the use of spatial analysis, geographic information systems for decision support, developing more recently a line of research on the topic of monetary evaluation of natural resources. He has published more than 30 printed books and over 400 scientific publications in English.
