Lowell Lo is a nephrologist in the Nephrology and Hypertension Faculty Practice who specializes in diagnosing and managing electrolyte and acid-base disorders. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern, where he also completed his residency, and completed a fellowship at UCSF. Post-fellowship training, he completed two additional years of advanced training in UCSF’s Training in Clinical Research Program and Teaching Scholar Program. He is currently an associate clinical professor at UCSF. He is the practice chief for UCSF’s Renal Ambulatory Service and the medical director of the outpatient Dialysis Center at UCSF. His education and research focus on how to better educate trainees to apply kidney physiology in clinical practice and improve patient access to high-quality nephrology care.
