Professor, Dr Lev Isaacovich Dorman, was born at May 1, 1929 in Bratslav, Vinnitsa region, Ukraina. Graduated Moscow State University in Nuclear and Elementary Particle Physics by Honour Diploma in 1950, PhD – in 1955, Dr of Science – 1962, Professor – 1967, Honour Scientist of Russian Federation – 1989. In 1951-1957 – Ingenier and Scientist in the Laboratory of Cosmic Rays of the Department of Atmospheric Electricity (up to 1952) and then of Department of Earth’s Currents in IZMIRAN, Founder and Head of Department of Magneto-hydrodinamics in Magnetic Laboratory Academy of Science USSR, and then in Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy (1957 – 1965), Founder and Head of Cosmic Ray Department of IZMIRAN (1965-1995), Professor of Moscow State University (1962-1991). Now: Founder and Head of Israel Cosmic Ray and Space Weather Centre and Israeli-Italian Emilio Segre’ Observatory on Mt. Hermon, affiliated to Tel Aviv University, Golan Research Institute, and Israel Space Agency (from 1992 up to present) and Chief Scientist of Cosmic Ray Department of IZMIRAN (Russian Academy of Sciences, from 1995 up to present).
