Kostas Rontos is Professor of Social Demography and Statistics at the Department of Sociology of the University of the Aegean. He is the President of the aforementioned Department. He is the Director of the Laboratory of Social Informatics, Statistics and Research Infrastructure, of the e-learning program “Empirical Research in Social Sciences” and of the Summer School “Specific Topics of Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods”. He is the Director of the postgraduate program “European Societies and European Integration He used to be a Director at the National Statistical Service of Greece. Based on this frame, his research interests emphasize mainly to statistics, tourism, enterprises and employment, social and economic research, Demography, Social Capital, Information Systems and Lifelong Learning on Social Research.
