Dr. Kirti Chawla was awarded a Bachelors (B.D.S.) degree in Dentistry by Delhi University (Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences) in 2006. She then undertook her Masters in Dental Surgery (M.D.S. Periodontology) at the same institute which she completed in 2010 followed by a three years senior residency from 2010-2014. She has been a Gold Medalist of Delhi University with 30 awards and 3 distinctions. She has worked on research titled “Comparison of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy and Er,Cr:YSGG laser assisted periodontal pocket therapy in the treatment of aggressive periodontitis: A clinical study” under the CSIR Scientist’s Pool Scheme from 2014-2017 for which she has been awarded the “Best Fellow Abstract Award” at the 35th Annual Conference of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery (2015), held at Kissimmee, Florida. Currently she is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India. She has been awarded the Diplomate by the World Congress of Oral Implantology (WCOI – Japan division). She is a certified Publons Academy Mentor. She has published a patent titled “Cold laser Oral Therapeutic Device”. She has authored/co-authored a number of research papers in international and national journals. She has given many presentations and chaired sessions at various national and international conferences. She is an Editorial Board Member of Acta Scientific Dental Sciences, Nigerian Journal of Experimental and Clinical Sciences, International Journal of Oral and Craniofacial Science and a frequent reviewer for various scientific journals in the field of Dentistry and Oral Health.
