Dr. Bettermann, MD graduated from Medical School, with a PhD in Neurophysiology at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. She is board certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology, and is a practicing Neurologist at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA, USA. She completed residency and fellowship training in Psychiatry and Neurology at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, the Heinrich-Heine University in Duesseldorf, Germany and at Wake Forest University, NC, USA. Dr. Betterman has research interests in Cerebrovascular Disease, Vascular Dementia, Stroke, Ultrasound, Neuroimaging, Biomarkers, Stroke Prevention and Diabetes, and has received grant awards from HHS, NIH/NINDS, private foundations and industry for projects related to cerebrovascular diseases and dementia. She has published numerous scientific papers since 1995, has authored 17 book chapters and was co-editor of one book on stroke and cerebrovascular disorders.
