He joined Kanazawa University after the Graduate School of the Tokyo University in 1977. He was promoted to Professor in 1997 and served as the leader of the 21st Century COE Program. He has been awarded from the Japan Societies of Atmospheric Environment, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology.
