In 1977, Darsky immigrated to the United States, where he’s been citizen since 1983. In addition to his medical profession, for 55 years he’s been collecting and studying everything related to the life and art of Russian opera singer Feodor Chaliapin. As a freelance journalist, Darsky has published dozens of articles and essays about Chaliapin in Russian language periodicals. He has also authored three books in Russian about him and two in English published by the Nova Science: Tsar Feodor: Chaliapin in America (2012) and Sex and the Singer: Women in Feodor Chaliapin’s Life (2014). With the current work, Darsky concludes his research trilogy about the greatest Russian opera star Feodor Chaliapin.
