José Basilio Heredia, PhD. Dr. Heredia is a Research Professor at Centro de Investigación en Alimentación y Desarrollo, A. C. (CIAD) Culiacan Unit. He has a BS degree in Biochemical Engineering (TNM-Tecnológico de Culiacan), an MS in Nutrition and Foods (CIAD-Conacyt), and a PhD (Texas A&M University) with specialization in the study of phytochemicals, bioactive compounds, nutraceuticals, and functional foods. With over 22 years of experience in these fields, he is the head of the Nutraceutical and Functional Foods Research Group at CIAD Culiacan.
