Jaroslava completed her psychology studies at the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University in Prague, the Czech Republic. She is a registered clinical psychologist and cognitive behavioural therapist and works as the head of the Department of Clinical Psychology of the Motol University Hospital in Prague. Her speciality is psychological diagnostics and psychotherapy in patients with acute and chronic cancer pain and non-cancer related pain. She gives lectures on medical psychology and the psychology of pain as part of the under-graduate education of medical students, nurses and other practitioners at the 2nd Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University in Prague; she also gives lectures as part of the post-graduate education of medical doctors – algesiologists, palliative medicine specialists, rehabilitative medicine specialists and clinical psychologists at the Institute for postgraduate medical education in Prague.
