Jan Gunnar Hatlebakk is consultant in gastroenterology at Haukeland University Hospital, and professor of gastroenterology, hepatology and clinical nutrition at University of Bergen Medical School. He was educated at the University of Bergen, becoming MD in 1984 and PhD in 1997. He completed his clinical training at Haukeland University Hospital under Professor Arnold Berstad and has had postdoctoral research stays at The Graduate Hospital, Philadelphia, and Université de Nantes. His research interests have included functional gastrointestinal disorders as well as gastro-oesophageal reflux and gastrointestinal motility disorders.
