Jalel Labidi has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine (France). He has developed his research career in several centers: Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal (Canada), CanmetENERGY (Canada), CNRS (France), University of Girona (Spain) and, currently, at the University of the Basque Country, UPV/EHU (Spain). At the moment, he is a permanent researcher in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the University of the Basque Country, UPV/EHU, Spain. His research is focused on the development, optimization and integration of biorefinery processes. He has directed and participated in numerous national and international competitive research projects. Currently he is the director of the Master’s program in Renewable Materials Engineering at the University of the Basque Country, UPV/EHU. He is also a member of editorial boards of several international journals: Industrial Crops and Product (Elsevier), Frontiers in Energy Research: Bioenergy and Biofuel (Frontiers), Molecules (MDPI), Invention (MDPI) and Brazilian Journal of Wood Science (Universidade Federal de Pelotas).
